Wonderful Message

To My Dearest Friends and Family,

I want to take this opportunity to share with you about our project that we are going to launch this Friday, 26th March 2010. Last weekend, I attended an Empowering Women Through Entrepreneurship workshop and it gave me some ideas on how I can further build my family business with better and even more value.

Early this year, I went to Australia and I was inspired by a movement called Vinnies where they sell 2nd items to raise funds for their society to help the poor. Being a single mum, I have always felt that I needed to contribute to our community by doing more meaningful work. So when I got back, my mum and I immediately implemented the same culture and launched Jen's Homekitchen Food For The Homeless Fund. We went into our store room and started taking out all our 2nds that we didn't need and started to sell these items and collected the money to convert them into ingredients to make homemade cakes for the homeless. Because it's not easy to raise funds and it is not everyday that people do buy second hand items, we decided to take it a step further after attending such an inspirational weekend.

This coming Friday, Jen's Homekitchen will be launching Jen's Birthday Wall Project to raise funds for Jen's Homekitchen Food For The Homeless. For every cake that is being ordered, RM1 will be taken out to give to The Homeless Fund so that we can send out 1 cake every week. What we will do is that we will take a picture of your cake that you ordered and post it on Jen's Birthday Wall with a "Thank You" message to the person that paid for the cake. Our goal is to raise 10,000 orders of cakes so that we can secure 1 cake a week for the Homeless for the period of 2 years and when we reach our goal we will invite everyone who had contributed to this fund to join us to "Celebrate Life"!

I would like to invite all of you to log on to www.jensbirthdaywall.blogspot.com and begin to mark your 1st contribution to the fund by ordering yours or your family's Birthday Cake from us. I hope that with your help in contributing, you will also continue to help us by spreading our message to your family and friends. With everybody's help, we will be able to reach our goal in no time.

Thank you so much for reading my email and I am looking forward to hear from all of you soon.

God Bless, Natasha
